Curriculum Vitea

Michael Heizmann studied mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH). There he received his doctorate at the Institute of Measurement and Control Systems (Prof. Franz Mesch, Prof. Christoph Stiller) in 2004. Afterwards he set up the research group "Variable Image Acquisition and Processing" at the Chair of Vision and Fusion Laboratory (Lehrstuhl für Interaktive Echtzeitsysteme) at the KIT Department of Informatics and also at the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation IOSB (former IITB). In 2009 he assumed management of the Department Systems for Measurement, Control and Diagnosis (Mess-, Regelungs- und Diagnosesysteme) at Fraunhofer IOSB. In 2014 Michael Heizmann was appointed to the W3 professorship "Mechatronische Systeme" at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Since 2016, he holds the professorship "Mechatronic Measurement Systems" and is Director at the KIT Institute for Industrial Information Technology (IIIT).
